Book of Phil Collins

Song 1, Lyric 1 - The day we got there.

In the beginning there was nothing, hence the start of it all being the beginning, duh! Anyway, one day the mighty Geldoff got bored and made a bet with his pal/mortal enemy George. The bet was to make something in eleven days, give or take a few. Doesn’t sound too hard, but remember, there was nothing, so to make something took effort. The two entities shook hands and the bet was sealed.

Geldoff got to work and created everything he wanted in eleven days exactly. Space, suns, planets, and a special amusement park called Earth. Well, he needed something to play with. On this planet he created water, land, animals and whatever else he thought was necessary. Even bees. Damn bees.

On the eleventh day – due to a long weekend of sun, sea and sand – Geldoff created something he called ‘man’ (the thing he shouted when he stubbed his toe). This man was to be called Christophé, a good-looking fellow that was happy scratching himself and eating whatever he felt like for a while.

He soon became bored of the same routine, and feeling a little lonely, he asked Geldoff to produce computer games. Geldoff thought about this for a while and decided he couldn’t face a lawsuit for giving his creation carpel tunnel syndrome. Instead he decided to ‘borrow’ a rib from Christophé to make him a fellow man. Only it turns out Geldoff isn’t that good at biology and screwed up the DNA structure. Thus ‘woman’ was made; and she was called Chanél.

Christophé was very happy with Chanél, as she was able to play a decent game of Twister with him.

George was not happy, he had lost the bet. So he squashed the dinosaurs.
