by Neale This page was always meant to showcase both the adverts I loved, and the ones I hated. I don't think I've ever given a negative review though. Well now's the time to make up for it... Frosties – They’re Gonna Taste Great This has to be the worst advert I’ve seen in quite a while (discounting all those ringtone adverts of course). Everything about it is just wrong. To start with, the tune is really really catchy – which means it’s gonna stick in your head whatever the lyrics are, and you won’t be able to get rid of it. Oh and the lyrics… If you’re going to create a rhyming tune such as this, don’t, whatever you do, choose a word that has nothing sensible to rhyme with. (Ok, so they had to use ‘great’, but that just means they shouldn’t have chosen the idea to start with.) Let me give you a few examples: ‘Frosties hitting me plate’ – I’ll let the grammar slide, but who eats cereal off a plate? ‘ladies who wait’ – or a waitress as they’re usually called. ‘or a pi-rate’ – not pi-rat like everyone else pronounces it? ‘teenage brother who’s out on a date’ – why the hell would anyone, let alone a teenage lad, eat Frosties on a date?! I’m sorry, but the boy singing it is just scary. He has a permanent evil grin etched on his face. And that thing at the end where he floats up into the air and does those arm gestures….*shudders* For those that like torture, here is the advert. (It’s the short version that doesn’t include the ‘Frosties hitting me plate’ line – be thankful for that.) To make it even worse, 2 lads have attempted to recreate the advert. Now, if you’re going to do this, it should be to take the mick out of the original ad. But oh no. This is just sad… |
