Human Trafficking (Sky One - Sundays, 10pm) by Craig Human Trafficking – the act of holding people against their will and transporting them worldwide for use as prostitutes and sex slaves. Sad to say, this sort of stuff does happen in the world and is a very tragic and horrific experience. So, going off this, some might say that Sky were pushing it a little by making their new drama mini-series about this subject matter. I must admit, I too was one of those people until I watched it through the classic conduit of having nothing better to do/watch and man, was I surprised… Admittedly, yes, some scenes were disturbing and a little risqué, even though nothing of a graphic or explicit nature is shown, merely suggested at and hinted toward. The story follows the trafficking ringleader, expertly played by none other than Robert Carlisle (the guy who got naked in Full Monty) and his latest scheme on getting more girls into his ‘employment’ by creating a sham model search and picking out the cream of the crop, so to speak. Also added to this star studded cast is Donald Sutherland (the guy from 24’s Dad) as a retired cop who’s come out of retirement just for this case, to try and bust the trafficking ring. Episode one had me enthralled, captivated, and in some parts disgusted, but purely through good writing and screenplay. I certainly have to say that I really am looking forward to the repeat of it this Sunday. (Cause I missed it last night *sniffle*.) That’s all I can say really without spoiling some stuff for you… If Neale lets me, I might do some continuations on this as the story progresses… (Yes you may – saves me from writing :D Neale) Craiggy Rating: 7/10 – Would’ve ranked higher if my own personal opinions didn’t get in the way… But this is darn good TV. |

by Jenni Due to my hectic social life, this week has not seen the usual dedication to my favourite soap, but here goes…… Erm….Steph had a baby…..Izzy told Paul about Ned because Lou blackmailed her…..Susan gave Rachel and Zeke to Kayta…….Janelle and Toadie’s mum had a fight…..Neale help! (Oh no, you’re on your own here. Everyone knows how annoyed I’ve been with Neighbours lately. Neale) Legend of the week Susan Kinski/Kennedy/Smith: She could have brought Kayta the mongaloid down, but she chose to be a decent human being…here’s hoping that Zeke the little chode will have a miserable life without her. Tosser of the week Zeke Kinski: HE MUST DIE!!!!!! Honourable mention Janae Timmins: For scaring the shit out of loser Boyd with her broodiness over baby Charlie! |
