Cars

by Neale

I hate driving.

I never wanted to learn to drive in the first place, but in this day and age, I couldn’t not.

As a guy I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but it’s so confusing. There’s so many different things to remember to do and you have lots of things to do at once.

After spending much time putting it off, I finally had lessons in July last year. In December I was told to put in for my test. The week before it, I had such a bad lesson, everything that could go wrong did. But then the week later I go and pass my test. First time might I add.

I much prefer going on the motorway, you just put your foot down and look all around you, making sure you get into the right lane. Relatively easy. But getting onto smaller roads, and especially in city/town centres it gets very fiddly. Much of this is down to how cars work with the clutch and gear. It would be much easier without them. God, I sound like an American…

This was all brought up very harshly to me this week. I went out shopping and went to park in a bay. Unfortunately my big canoes (feet) got trapped in-between the clutch. Properly stuck. I panicked and my car juddered forward into the next car. I was very shaken.

But no one was hurt, and my car came off much worse, having a little dink in the front. Now I just have to forget about it and move on. But still…

Grr cars.
